An interesting series of medical blogs came my way this week, through allegralaboratory.net Maybe not strictly speaking, Digital Drugs, but interesting, never-the-less.
The series of posts explores im/mobility and dis/connectivity in global health from an anthropological perspective. Looking at how things, persons, infrastructures, etc don’t connect, flow and materialise is as important as their connections, they argue. In addition to this introduction, there are four other articles to click on: Anika König, (on the technology of gestational surrogacy and transnational networks); Claire Beaudevin (medical genetics and public health services in Oman); Bo Kyeong Seo (the socio-material infrastructure of Renal Replacement Therapy in Thailand) and René Umlauf (malaria prevention in Northern Uganda).
