From 1st of March 2016 in Italy all GP prescriptions (with a few exceptions) will have to be sent electronically.
Patients can have them dispensed at any pharmacy in Italy. Since different Regions in Italy have different charges or costs for prescriptions, if the patient collects the medicines from a pharmacy in a different region from where they are resident, there will be a system for charging the patient the same charges that would apply in her region and it will be responsibility of the pharmacy to settle any difference (with/between Regions).
