Especially of relevance the part about really innovative medicines: “pour les produits les plus innovants – une dizaine par an  –, autorisés au niveau européen et qui obtiennent une note élevée de la part de la Commission de la transparence, le prix ne peut pas être inférieur au minimum fixé dans quatre autres pays européens (Royaume-Uni, Allemagne, Espagne, Italie). Et ce prix est protégé pendant cinq ans.

This is in the news because the French government negotiated a reduced price for a new drug against Hepatitis C, sold by Gilead, which was costed at 19,000 Euros each vial; now negotiated down to 13,667 Euros each vial (the treatment lasts usually 12 weeks, for a cost of 41,000 Euros instead of 57,000).
