If you’re an LSE student with 2-3 years’ work experience (or even more…), your requirements are likely to be different from students with less professional experience. You may be studying to enable a career change, or your studies may be more focused towards career progression. Either way, here are some resources to get you started/keep you going with all things careers:

Opportunities

On LSE CareerHub we list experienced hire roles which are ideal for people with 2+ years of experience.

Resources

On CareerHub we also have resources that are ideal for those of you with previous experience including advice on:

  • How to work through a problem with an employer
  • How to handle salary discussions
  • Great questions to ask at your interview
  • Your first 90 days in a new role
  • Good questions to ask at a networking meeting
  • Assessing and evaluating job offers

Blogs

We’ve written a blog on CV writing for experienced hires which has lots of advice and tips on everything from preparation to formatting. We regularly write on all careers topics so have a browse and follow us for more.

Events

LSE Careers regularly organises panel and networking events to support the development of current students and alumni, including those who are interested in changing sectors. You can meet alumni, employers and fellow experienced students at many of our events so look on CareerHub and sign up!

One-to-one appointments

Our careers consultants are here for all student groups and recent alum with lots of experience or none – and even whether you know what you want to do or not. Simply book an appointment through CareerHub and if you’re not in London for a face-to-face discussion simply email us at careers@lse.ac.uk to set up a telephone or Skype appointment!
