LSE CareerHub is your gateway to our careers events, appointments, the organisations we work with and our vacancy board.
CareerHub can be accessed by:
- current LSE students (after you’ve registered on campus)
- LSE research staff
- LSE alumni for up to five years after you finish your degree
See our website for full instructions for registering and accessing CareerHub.
Your career preferences
No matter where you are in your career planning, we recommend you set your career preferences and communication preferences as soon as possible.
We occasionally send targeted emails based on your career interests, so setting your preferences ensures that you only hear about the things that are important to you. CareerHub will also highlight different events and job opportunities depending on your preferences.
Organisations
On CareerHub you can search nearly 9000 companies who have worked with us in some way – either hosting or attending an event, or posting a vacancy. You can search by industry or the size of the company and ‘follow’ employers to be notified of new vacancies and opportunities to meet them at events. You can manage all the organisations you follow on your CareerHub dashboard.
Events
We list hundreds of career events on CareerHub. You can search and browse all our events or find an organisation to see what events they are running.
There are many different types of careers events you can attend over the year and these include:
- educational seminars, led by employers or careers consultants, sometimes exclusively for your department or degree programme
- networking events, on-campus promotions, presentations and careers fairs where you can meet employers and find out more about their organisation or industry
- exciting and diverse one-off volunteering opportunities
- small, informal sessions where you can meet employers (Meet an Alum, Friday breakfast briefings and Careers Cafés)
You’ll need to book a place on CareerHub for almost all the events on campus (booking usually opens one week before the event). If an event is fully booked you can join a waiting list to be notified if places become available. A lot of our events are very popular so please remember to cancel your place if you can no longer make it!
Where possible we add seminar slides and other event materials to the resources on CareerHub, where you’ll also find other useful links and guides.
One-to-one appointments
You can book one-to-one appointments with our careers consultants on CareerHub. Choose a topic to discuss or view the appointments for a particular careers consultant. You can use these appointments for discussing anything to do with your career, including getting an application checked, practising presentations and interviews, or getting advice and guidance about what you could do when you leave LSE.
Most of our appointments are careers or CV/cover letter discussions and you can book up to four of these per term. Other appointments we run include:
- exclusive appointments for some departments and degree programmes
- PhD careers advice appointments – for PhD students and research staff only
- volunteering appointments – select ‘volunteering’ as the appointment topic
- entrepreneurship discussions with our Generate careers consultant – select ‘entrepreneurship’
- practice interviews – get a simulation of a real interview you have coming up
Our appointments are very popular so please cancel your booking if you’re no longer available so that someone else can book. You can find your forthcoming appointments on your CareerHub dashboard if you ever need to cancel.
Vacancy board
We advertise thousands of jobs and volunteering opportunities every year on CareerHub. All the vacancies have been posted by organisations, in a wide range of industries and countries, who want to hire LSE students. Whatever stage of your education or career there should be vacancies suitable for you. On CareerHub you’ll find:
- graduate vacancies
- part-time jobs suitable for students
- internships
- experienced hire positions (requiring two or more years of experience)
- volunteering opportunities
You can bookmark a vacancy and CareerHub will remind you when the closing date is approaching. On your CareerHub dashboard you can manage all the opportunities that you’ve bookmarked.
