Have you heard of STEMS? No? Well, it’s the package we use for student inductions at the beginning of each year.
To improve student engagement and induction experience, a team from across the Division are working on improving the quality of the design, content and brand of our STEMS site. One of our aims is to find a name for our induction platform. This is where we need your help and suggestions!
Other universities don’t refer to STEMS, they have a name and a brand for their induction platforms so they can refer to something more memorable. This means that students can interact with something more friendly and identifiable. It’s up to you what to try to emphasise in the name you suggest but don’t forget that the platform is for student inductions, it needs to be memorable and it needs to be clearly ours. We’ve included an example image from the Sheffield Hallam site so you can see what we mean.
There is a prize for the winner- afternoon tea for four in the Senior Dining Room on campus. The competition will be judged by Director of Residences, Ian Spencer. To enter email me at m.l.warriner@lse.ac.uk by noon on Monday 11th July- joint entries and all ideas welcome- get naming!
