We’re proud to announce that LSE Northumberland House has won the Green Tourism Gold Award from the Green Tourism for Business Scheme (GTBS).

GTBS is one of the world’s most credible sustainable tourism awards for tourism which takes into account the needs of the environment, local residents, businesses, and visitors; now and in the future.”

Green Tourism Gold AwardWe completed various green initiatives over a period of two years.

Things which stood out were the new recycling project with Westminster Council, installation of energy saving LED lights in student bathrooms and other hall areas and fitting a new dosing system and more energy-efficient machines in the laundry.

The auditor was also impressed with the Residences Environmental Action Plan.

The Green Tourism Gold Award is a major achievement for the hall which won Silver in 2012. This shows our continuing commitment towards the School’s Environmental Policy and Sustainability Action Plan.
