Former Canadian Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Minister of National Revenue

Elinor Caplan has been the Chief Executive Officer at Canada Strategies Inc. since 2004. She served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1985 to 1997, and as a Member of Parliament in the Canadian House of Commons (Thornhill) from 1997 to 2004. A Liberal, she served as a cabinet minister in both the Ontario provincial government of the Honourable David Peterson and the federal government of the Right Honourable Jean Chrétien. She served in the Chrétien Cabinet as Minister of Citizenship and Immigration from 1999 to 2002 and Minister of National Revenue from 2002 to 2003. She served as Chief Whip and Deputy House Leader of the Official Opposition from 1990 to 95.
