The LSE Research Festival Exhibition 2015 took place on 21 May 2015. The annual public exhibition celebrated social science research with a public exhibition of posters, photographs and short films by researchers from LSE and elsewhere.
Researchers exhibited photographs, posters and films which visually depicted their work, and were on hand to discuss their work with visitors. We had 37 photographs exhibited at the event.
There were 28 poster submissions at the festival exhibition including several from outside of LSE. Here, Paul Dütting from the Department of Mathematics at LSE, discusses his poster which was a collaboration with researchers from Stanford University, California.
Researchers exhibited at all levels from undergraduate right up to senior professor. Here, Dr Sunil Kumar from the Department of Social Policy, LSE, discusses his photography exhibit.
Visitors to the exhibition enjoyed a wide display of innovative social science research from across LSE and beyond.
The evening proved to be a busy event, with lots of interaction between researchers and the visiting public.
There were 16 films screened across two lecture theatres on the night, with many of the researchers involved giving Q&A sessions to the visiting public.
Prizes were awarded in a number of categories. Here, Rastus Chow, an exhibitor from the National University of Singapore, accepts the award for best group research from Professor Julia Black, Pro-Director of Research at LSE.
Over 20 LSE departments and research centres exhibited at the event, as well as 4 external institutions, making this our largest exhibition to date.
