Applications are now open for the UPR’s 2018/9 Research Team(s).

This is an excellent opportunity to:

  • Become an expert in a political research area of your group’s choosing
  • Co-author an academic article, which will be published in the LSE UPR’s annual journal, or elsewhere
  • Hone your research skills, essential for your journey in academia and beyond
  • Learn more about the academic research process

Last year, the UPR had two research teams. The qualitative team explored the question: Can the Social Contract Justify Secession? A Case Study of the Catalan Demand for Independence, while the quantitative team asked Does Protest Turnout Affect Regulatory Policy?: Anti-Nuclear Energy Protests during the 1970s-90s.

Following the conclusion of their research, our 2017/8 teams had the chance to present their work at the Political Studies Association’s Undergraduate Conference, and the British Conference for Undergraduate Research.

The number of research teams created this year is subject to demand.
