In London, sustaining that happy mood can be hard especially if your commute is long, you have all your deadlines coming up, you’re a bit homesick and it’s freezing!

When you feel low, it’s important to appreciate what the city has to offer.

Fortunately, LSE’s centrally located campus and facilities ensure the best student experience. London may seem all about the hustle and bustle but there’s something here for every LSE student!

And you can’t use the ‘it’s too expensive’ excuse to stay home anymore, because you can do all these things living on a student budget!

Looking for something to stimulate your brain?

LSE hosts a range of public seminars, which are usually free to attend. Here’s the list of Public Lectures to search for  a topic you’re interested in. What’s more is you can bring anyone along with you.

If you find that you can’t make it to any of the lectures, London has a range of museums you can visit. Specifically, there are over 100 museums you can visit in London which are either free or offer student discounts.

If you’re looking for something close by, the British Museum and the Sir John Soane’s museum are only 4 minutes away from campus.

Fancy a night of entertainment?

LSE’s campus also happens to be only a 6 minute walk from Shaftsbury Avenue, home to all of London’s theatre. You can get up to a 40% discount on tickets by verifying your student status. Check out Love Theatre for discounts.

If theatre is not your thing, you can find the Top Secret Comedy Club at Drury Lane, only a 4 minute walk from campus. The Top Secret Comedy Club has free nights where secret celebrity comedians may appear!

If you enjoy running outdoors in open spaces, LSE is right by Bloomsbury Square Garden and Red Lion Square Garden, which both have cafes and benches.

LSE also has a gym on the fourth floor of the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, which has a range of facilities for cardio lovers and weight lifters. Membership to LSE’s gym gives you free access to its range of fitness classes like Zumba, Hitfit or Salsa!
