President of Malawi (2012-2014)
Joyce Banda was Malawi’s first female President (2012-2014) and the second woman to lead an African country. Before assuming the position of President, she served as the Vice President of the Republic (2009-2012), as Minister of Foreign Affairs (2006-2009) and as Minister of Gender, Child Welfare and Community Services (2004-2006). Her vision is to eradicate poverty through economic growth and wealth creation.
