Blog by Catherine Reynolds, Careers Consultant for PhD students and research staff
Welcome to the new academic year to all our returning PhD students.
Part way through your PhD might be a good time to review where you are heading and make plans for the next few years and LSE Careers can help you.
The annual LSE Careers PhD programme brochure 2017/18 is also online; it summarises all you need to know throughout the year.
Deciding on an initial career path
In my experience PhD students waver between commitment to an academic career and curiosity about the world outside academia. We are non-judgmental about these two alternatives and can help you make the best choices in your very individual circumstances. You can talk through your unique situation in a confidential one-to-one career discussion with me.
Events and advice
We organise specialist events, fairs, seminars and talks throughout the year to increase your understanding of the options open to you and how to secure one of them.
