Although term doesn’t start for a week or two, there’s plenty you can do before you head back and classes start. Depending on what stage you’re at with your career thinking, we’ve come up with a few ideas to give you a head start before term begins.

Not sure what you’re going to do when you leave LSE?

We’ve designed an interactive guide to help you work out what you want to do. It will help you think about what you’re good at, what you enjoy, what your career options are and how you can turn them into reality. It’s called Career Builder and has received rave reviews from students!

Ready to send off some applications?

We’ve got two specially written booklets on CVs and application forms which you can access online. These will answer all your questions as well as giving you practical examples to work from.

Got some interviews coming up?

Try our online tool called InterviewStream. All you need to do is enter the details of the job you have applied for and InterviewStream will automatically generate a series of realistic interview questions for you to answer. If you have a webcam you can even record and play back your responses so you can see how well you come across. You can also book a practice interview with one of our careers consultants.

Looking for jobs, internships and volunteering opportunities?

CareerHub has over 900 opportunities advertised at the time of writing – so there’s nothing to stop you putting in some applications before term starts!

Want to develop your skills?

We have lots of events on throughout the year from seminars and fairs to employer presentations and off-campus events where you can learn everything from writing or enhancing your CV to increasing your knowledge about sectors including international development, marketing, consultancy and more. Look out on CareerHub in the coming weeks as we add more!

Need some one-to-one help?

Book an appointment and come and see us to talk about all and anything careers related. If you’re not on campus you can book a telephone or Skype appointment – just email us at careers@lse.ac.uk.

We look forward to seeing you – good luck with your studies and career planning!
