Welcome to the LSE Research Festival blog, where we will be celebrating public engagement with social science research. The purpose of the blog is to host a number of different projects that both showcase research and highlight the importance of communicating it widely.

To that end, we will be featuring guest posts and stories from researchers who have participated in the festival, talking about how the creation of a poster or photograph, or involvement in a debate, has prompted them to think differently about their research, as well as pieces from experts in the field of research communication.

We will also be running our ‘best of LSE blogging’ series again. Managing editors of LSE’s research based blogs will be invited to submit their ‘best’ or favourite recent post and to write a short introduction explaining why the particular piece was chosen and how it reflects the wider work of its originating blog. The aim is to provide an insight into the best that LSE has to offer in terms of research based blogging.

Finally, we will be using the blog to post information about LSE Research Festival itself. Expect to see details of upcoming events, information about how you can get involved and previews of some of the works being entered into the festival exhibition.

The LSE Research Festival blog is managed by Jane Hindle and maintained by the LSE Research Festival Steering Group.

If you would like to write a guest post for us or have an idea for how else we could celebrate LSE research, please email us at researchfestival@lse.ac.uk
